Responsible Gold, a blockchain-based ecosystem dedicated to traceable and ethically sourced gold, announced the appointment of Sakhila Mirza as its new President. In her role, Mirza will lead the company’s next growth phase, focusing on advancing responsible sourcing frameworks and fostering innovation across the firm’s digital offerings.
Mirza brings over a decade of experience from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), where she served as Deputy CEO and General Counsel. There, she spearheaded initiatives on responsible sourcing, market integrity, and standards development, playing a vital role in enhancing trust and transparency throughout the global gold supply chain.
“It’s an exciting time for the gold market in terms of innovation and future growth,” Mirza said. “Being actively involved in leading these changes felt like the right opportunity.”
At Responsible Gold, she will define operational goals, establish key performance indicators, and drive wider industry engagement. She will also support launching new products, including a fund aligned with the firm’s responsible sourcing principles.
Mirza recently took on an additional role as portfolio manager at Pandion Asset Management L.P., a registered US investment adviser.
Brent de Jong, Chairman of Responsible Gold, praised her appointment: “Sakhila is a highly respected leader in responsible sourcing. Her expertise in setting global standards and aligning regulatory frameworks will be critical as we build a gold ecosystem grounded in transparency and trust.”
Mirza’s immediate focus will be on consolidating Responsible Gold’s current achievements and shaping its long-term vision as a trusted partner for responsible supply chains.
