ASX-listed Dateline Resources has upgraded its US listing to the OTCQB Venture Market, trading under ticker DTREF, reflecting growing American interest in its flagship Colosseum rare earths and gold project in California. This uplisting improves share liquidity and accessibility for US investors without imposing new compliance burdens, thanks to Dateline’s existing ASX reporting standards.
The OTCQB tier hosts about 900 early-stage companies and is a step above the less regulated Pink Open Market, where Dateline was previously listed. Management sees the move as key to expanding its North American investor base amid rising US focus on securing rare earths supply chains critical for defense and clean energy.
The Colosseum project has recently gained national attention following a surprise endorsement by former US President Donald Trump, who highlighted the mine as “America’s second rare earths mine” on social media.
Located near the Mountain Pass mine — once the world’s top rare earth producer — Colosseum shows strong geological similarities and hosts a JORC-compliant gold resource of 1.1 million ounces. A recent scoping study values the gold project at US$550 million, with annual production projected at 75,000 ounces over 8.3 years, and total capital expenditure capped at US$195 million.
Dateline is progressing toward a bankable feasibility study and expects a fast-track restart given existing mining rights and approvals. The discovery of new breccia pipes near Colosseum points to significant potential upside in gold resources.
With enhanced US market visibility and strategic timing, Dateline is positioning itself as a key player in the rare earths and gold sectors amid shifting geopolitical priorities.
